So You Want to Learn How to Sail in a Regatta! - Part II
When you are preparing for your first big competition day on the water you will need to follow a few guidelines. Most clubs have a range of competition styles. You could be the Sunday driver enjoying a friendly, summer twilight race held weekly between intra club members, or you could be aboard a mega yacht, competing in an international World Cup competition.  At the end of the day you can look forward to an evening of camaraderie, socialization and libations. Almost all regattas end with a hosted beer and appetizer party. The host club will provide the location, the food and sometimes entertainment and hosted drinks. Rum is always a big seller in yacht clubs, especially Dark and Stormy's, Goslings Dark Rum and Ginger Beer. It's very refreshing after a long day at sea.
